EMPIRE TAPE

(Mfd. as per IS: 3352/65)

The insulating material being used for ‘Y’ and ’A’ class insulation. These are manufactured by varnishing of cotton base fabric with suitable oil base varnish which parts good flexibility an Electric Strength.
“BHARAT BRAND” Empire cloth is supplied in 5, 7 & 10 mils in straight cut.
“BHARAT BRAND” Empire Tapes are supplied in Bias cut ½ to 2” width in 5, 7, 9 & 11 mils thickness Bias Cut tapes are supplied as they have adequate extensibility. In order to achieve a winding which is free from piping a considerable winding pull is require which brings with it the danger of over stretching and consequently a severe drop in electric strength through cracking of varnish therefore Bias Cut tapes are used to avoid cracking.

These are supplied in standard width of 1/2 inch to 2 inch & length of 25/50 or 66 mtr. length.
